On this April Fools’ Day 2026, we bring you the funniest practical jokes, hoaxes and pranks from across the Christian side of the internet

1. Drama on Premier Radio
After a heated on-air clash with Premier Gospel director Muyiwa Olarewaju, beloved host of Gospel Breakfast Belinda Brooks walked out mid-show, leaving Muyiwa to step in as an impromptu host.
We’re told that Premier Gospel would like to extend an apology to listeners who were forced to endure the tense exchange and Brooks’ abrupt resignation. This is not the kind of edifying, uplifting broadcasting they aim to deliver. They are committed to doing better. Immediately. Probably.
2. !Audacious Church drops bold 90s apparel line
!Audacious Church (don’t forget the exclamation mark) are rewinding the church clock with a brand-new clothing range inspired by 90s fashion and the Manchester music scene. The debut collection, teased on Instagram in a riot of colour, is a nostalgic nod to their roots.
Sign up for your launch discount at audaciouschurch.com/apparel and explore the full range this Easter weekend.
3. Christian apologist Clare Williams ‘deconstructs’ her faith
Christian apologist and founder of Real Questions, Clare Williams, has announced she is “deconstructing” her Christian faith.
In a candid statement, she shared: “My faith is not what it used to be.” Followers have been warned to expect a shift in content as she explores this new chapter. Please join us in praying that God will reveal Himself to her anew…
4. Greenbelt announce gloucester service station as the home to their 2026 festival.
Exciting news for Greenbelt Festival faithfuls: next year’s location has been revealed…and it’s a bold one.
In a historic first for Christian festivities, the 2026 festival will take place at Gloucester Service Station off the M5, bringing faith, arts and questionable parking directly to the motorway. Expect the festival’s usual vibrant mix of Christian drama, dance, and debate — now conveniently located between a Costa Coffee, BP Connect, McDonald’s and Roadchef.
5. New York church replaces pranks with radical kindness
New York-based church Meta have taken a bold stand this April Fools’ Day by refusing to prank their pastor. On a day dedicated to conniving deception and trickery, this congregation chose a more Christlike counter-cultural approach by overwhelming their lucky leader with hugs, encouragement and affirming pats on the back…so wholesome!
@metanyc We love you, Pastor Ricky! Thanks for playing along!! 😂❤️ #AprilFoolsPrank #ChurchTok #MetaChurch #ChurchesNYC ♬ original sound - Meta Church NYC
6. Church announces plan to build indoor permanent pool
Holy Trinity Boar Lane has announced ambitious plans to install a permanent indoor pool to meet rising demand for baptisms. The Grade I listed church has reportedly secured approval to transform part of its historic interior, in what can only be described as genius innovation in Anglican architecture.
Even more impressively, further attempts are being made to construct a spiral slide wrapping around their 300-year old-steeple, combining sacrament with soft play in one seamless experience. Churches nationwide, take notes.
@holytrinityboarlane We're building a swimming pool! See you poolside. 🏊♂️ #Leeds #church #swimmingpool #pool #slide #AprilFools
