Most of our bread comes ready-sliced courtesy of Hovis, not grown, threshed, milled and baked in our own backyard. It is difficult to fully grasp the link between ‘caring for the planet’ and how not doing so might affect our lifestyle. It’s all too easy to cling film our consciences and get on with life.
