Why go on holiday? – and a Christian one at that!
We all need time to kick back and relax every now and then. Indeed, the Creator of the universe enjoyed and established rest within the first two chapters of Genesis! I find that relaxation can come in various forms – whether it’s reclining on a pool-side lounger being brought ice-cold drinks (yes please!), wandering around an old harbour village with an ice cream, or having a go at a new sport! But what else entices you to go abroad?

Kick the leaves
Some years ago, I was going through a period in my life where I felt low, stressed and had little peace. One day a friend said to me, “You live such a busy life – you seem to have lost the ability to even spend time with yourself.” He suggested that I take a little time each day to “kick the leaves”. He said, “Maybe take a walk in a park. Don’t try to think of some new strategy for the next year or jot down ideas for a new book. Just amble.”
