I popped this CD into the car stereo at the start of a long journey, and I’ll admit, it started off a little blandly with studio covers that didn’t do justice to the vibrancy of the originals. But the album definitely got better. By the time I’d navigated my way through miles of traffic and crossed the Cheshire border, what had started out as a generic collection had me thumping the wheel and singing along.
A studio album, Your Great Grace provides covers of brilliant worship anthems by Matt Redman, Chris Tomlin and others. It’s a mixed bag containing moving renditions of well-known worship songs, with some lesser-known tracks and a healthy dose of gospel thrown in for good measure. If you’re looking to introduce someone to contemporary worship music, this could well be the right compilation album to buy them.
