LIGHTNING STRIKES RIO’S JESUS STATUE
The iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer that watches over the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro lost a thumb last month during a lightning storm that also knocked down dozens of trees in the area. The 38m landmark will be repaired in February.
NEW RELIGION WORSHIPS KANYE WEST
A new religion that views rapper Kanye West as its saviour has surfaced in the United States. ‘Yeezianity’, which currently only finds expression through a website, claims that it is ‘THE BEST CHURCH OF ALL TIME!!!’ The seriousness of the anonymous founder of the new faith’s intentions are as yet unclear.
VATICAN PEACE DOVES ATTACKED
Two doves released from above St Peter’s Square by Pope Francis and two children during a prayer for peace have been pictured being attacked by other birds. The two white doves were attacked by a seagull and a black crow in what one news site called ‘an epic battle between good and evil’
