Dr Kathrine McAleese’s book is a word in season for those of us who are suspicious of the latest self-help guru, but nonetheless want to hit the pause button and take stock of where we’re at in life, with a view to making some big changes.

While not offering anything particularly novel about how life ought to be done, McAleese does give plenty of good old-fashioned guidance to help the reader set goals, pace themselves and evaluate how they’re feeling about the things that have shaped them.

Although written primarily for women, this is a book that can be read by anyone wanting to discover “who they were put here to be, at an unhustled, God-designed pace”. As Mark Twain put it: “The two most important days in life are the day you’re born, and the day you find out why.” Enough is a worthy attempt to answer the ‘why?’ question.
