Sun, Sea, and Starvation
Lucinda Borkett-Jones travels to Malawi to find out how the world is going hungry while the planet heats up. In our plastic-wrapped society, the relationship between people and the land is largely absent from daily life. Most of our bread comes ready-sliced courtesy of Hovis, not grown, threshed, milled and baked in our own backyard. It is difficult to fully grasp the link between ‘caring for the planet’ and how not doing so might affect our lifestyle. It’s all too easy to cling film our consciences and get on with life.
