‘Restoring Faith in the Safety Net’, published by Church Action on Poverty, documents eight key holes in the safety net, many of which are leaving large numbers without income for months.
The report reveals that up to £1.5bn of benefits and £560m of tax credits are underpaid in error, leading to hundreds of thousands of people missing out on money they are entitled to.
