In Learning to Heal, John Coles, a leader in the New Wine network, looks at the basis on which we exercise a healing ministry; how the ministry might be released; specific types of healing prayer and ‘arenas of ministry’. This book is a classic restatement of a charismatic/Pentecostal approach to healing which benefits from its clarity and conciseness. Those who are new to this area of ministry will find it a helpful introduction that prompts them to think about what they are doing and how they are doing it. There is an excellent chapter on the place of faith in healing and the whole book is laced with sound, practical, experiencebased advice. However, not enough space is given to look at those who are prayed for and not healed.
Those who are looking to explore, think and pray more deeply about healing would really need to look elsewhere.
