Sunday morning prayers at St Elizabeth’s in Foleshill, Coventry, were interrupted when the intruders read a prepared statement that claimed that the Roman Catholic Church, Church of England and English Crown had been convicted of ‘child trafficking genocide and of crimes against humanity’.

The group, which the Coventry Telegraph reports is led by a defrocked Church of Canada minister, initially refused to leave and police had to be called in. Father Moses David of St Elizabeth’s told Christianity that he was pleased that the incident ended peacefully and that the group was treated in a dignified way, but that their motives seemed unclear. ‘We couldn’t make any sense of it,’ he said. ‘They seemed only to want to interrupt people from their prayer.’
