Bishop’s Den will allow parishes and deaneries in the diocese to bid for significant funding for innovative projects and will end in a public event at which the ideas will be pitched to a panel, similar to the way ideas are pitched on Dragons’ Den. ‘What we’re actually offering is something very straightforward,’ archdeacon Bill Stuart-White told Christianity, ‘but we hope that the means by which we’re doing it is sufficiently stimulating and entertaining to catch people’s eyes, to get them thinking and daring to come up with ideas.’
Bishop’s Den is part of the Doing Church Differently vision for the diocese and is apparently generating a lot of interest. ‘What we want to do is to see the gospel proclaimed in word and deed across Cornwall,’ says Stuart-White. ‘And we want to see it in loving and exciting and faith-filled ways.’
