The Ark Encounter (pictured, top) is created by Answers in Genesis (AiG) and will become the biggest timber-framed structure in the world when it opens to the public on 7th July. The land-locked ark is located in Kentucky and aims to ‘equip visitors to understand the reality of the events that are recorded in the book of Genesis’. AiG’s president Ken Ham said it will become ‘a world-class attraction’ and ‘one of the greatest evangelistic outreaches of our era of history’.
The Ark Of Noah (pictured, bottom) is currently docked in the Netherlands. Building constructor and carpenter Johan Huibers says his ark has already received hundreds of thousands of visitors and is used as a tool to explain the gospel. He is fundraising $1.5m to transport the ark to Brazil where he hopes thousands of visitors to the summer Olympics will climb aboard.
