Wallfront

The Wall is an ambitious project to build an iconic national landmark in the UK of a million bricks, with each one representing a unique story where Jesus has answered a prayer in someone's life.

The huge monument will be situated near a major motorway and have a visitor centre focused on prayer. The landmark itself is expected to be the size of 62 houses.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) launched a competition for architects, engineers and artists to design what the Wall could look like. The shortlist of five entries was revealed in Parliament this morning:

An exhibition of these designs is expected to take place in the summer with the wall finally being built in 2023. In 2019, thewall.org.uk will be updated to show a virtual 3D version of The Wall. Visitors will be able to access the site and click on any brick to see the prayer it represents.

The project is expected to cost £10m and is the brainchild of Former Leicester City football chaplain Richard Gamble.
