Kick the leaves

Some years ago, I was going through a period in my life where I felt low, stressed and had little peace. One day a friend said to me, “You live such a busy life – you seem to have lost the ability to even spend time with yourself.” He suggested that I take a little time each day to “kick the leaves”. He said, “Maybe take a walk in a park. Don’t try to think of some new strategy for the next year or jot down ideas for a new book. Just amble.”
